I remember when I had my first eyelash extensions appointment- I was lost and I had no idea how to prepare before my visit. I have spent long hours to search though the web for a short guide for girls like me- who have never been to an eyelash technician before and never had them done. If you are here, because you have only done the same thing as I did months ago- welcome! We have all been there and I will show you how to prepare before your visit and what to do after.
Please note: always do research! Make sure you will read the reviews and you will be comfortable with the place of your choice. Remember that they will be working very close to your eyes, so you have to be sure that they have all of the needed certificates and experience. If you are doing your researches over the Internet- see the pictures, read the reviews, check their website. You can also ask your friends and family- there might be a possibility that someone has their eyelash technician for months now and they are happy about the results.
Before booking an appointment make sure that you know and understand how this process looks like! Applying a full set of new lashes can take anywhere from 90 to 180 minutes and it is painless and very relaxing (you can even fall asleep!).To prepare the eye area for extensions, your esthetician will clean your lashes and place hydrating eye pads on top of your bottom lashes. Then, with your eyes closed, your lash professional uses tweezers to apply the extensions using special adhesive. You don’t need any patch test before your first eyelash extensions visit. If you have a very sensitive skin you can always call the eyelash extensions salon just to ask them for an advice.
Ok, so now you have found you perfect eyelash place, you know how the visit will look like and you have your first eyelash extensions appointment date. Perfect! You don’t need to have any special eyelash treatments before your appointment. The only thing I would advise is to wash your hair before your eyelash appointment as you will not be able to wet your eyelashes for at least 24 hours (well, no shower this day, but you will have amazing eyelashes!). 🙂
The day of the appointment: arrive without any eye make up– definitely no eye make up as mascara or eye shadows (you can have brow makeup or foundation, but leave eye area make up-free). Also do not perm or curl your eyelashes before your first eyelash extension appointment.
The next step is consultation: make sure you will have a full consultation before your treatment. It is very important to get your therapist know what you aiming for, to assess your natural lash condition and choose best possible look for you. Here, at Perfect Eyelashes, we always do consultation, so our lovely clients can understand what kind of length and curl will suit them the most. We also help them choose the right type of eyelash extensions.
After your visit you will be given an aftercare card. The most important is not to wet your eyelashes for at least 24-48 hours to allow the adhesive to properly dry. You will have to avoid oily eye make up remover, as they will loosen the adhesive bond of the extension. Also try not to pull our or rub your new eyelashes!
Now you are ready to go on your first eyelash extensions appointment! 🙂 And of course, you are more than welcome to book it here, at Perfect Eyelashes!
Maybe you want us to write about something? We are happy to hear from you!
Have a perfect day,
